Biblical Spirituality Program
Connecting Faith and Everyday Living
This program began in the Fall of 1997 to 2007:
- Help Catholics know and feel more comfortable with the Bible within their Catholic tradition. (Answer such questions as: Why read the Bible? Is the Bible as relevant for me today as when first written? c.f. Divine Revelation, 11 and 2 Tim 3:16-17)
- Integrate Bible reading and reflection with prayer and Christian living. (How can I have a personal relationship with God? c.f. Divine Revelation, 25 and John 17:3)
- Develop leadership training for Bible study groups in parishes. (Spread the Good News of Salvation; c.f. Decree on Laity, Section 6 and Mark 16:15-16)
- Widen social concern and desire for service.
- Form small faith communities as experience and understanding are shared.
